PROFESSIONAL BRASS PLAYING EMBOUCHURE ENDURANCE AND JAZZ IMPROVISATION STUDIES FOR INTERMEDIATE TO ADVANCED PLAYERS. NOTE THAT MOST OF MY ONE HOUR LESSONS INCLUDE ENOUGH INFORMATION TO GIVE YOU A BASE TO WORK WITH FOR A WHILE, AND WEEKLY LESSONS ARE NOT USUALLY NEEDED.
BRASS EMBOUCHURE ENDURANCE STUDIES are for the players who are at medium level , perhaps play well but are having endurance or range problems. Many factors affect this including how often you play, and equipment choice , but mainly HOW and WHAT you practice. Muscles need to be treated with kindness with a steady safe daily practice method to balance and build strength . At NO time do we want to strain or damage muscles . My method to help you is based on many years in the teaching studio working with hundreds of students .
SPECIAL JAZZ IMPROVISATION STUDIES for players Include my method to quickly relate CHORDS TO KEYS and RANDOM EAR TRAINING so you can develop melodic jazz improvisation quickly. The end goal is to be able to play instantly from MIND to INSTRUMENT. Great improvisers are playing MELODIC. LINES , NOT PATTERNS. You want to create and focus on the line using chords and keys as a base guide but not the rule.
