SPECIAL JAZZ IMPROVISATION STUDIES for trombone and trumpet players include my method to quickly relate CHORDS TO KEYS and RANDOM EAR TRAINING so you can develop melodic jazz improvisation quickly.
The end goal is to be able to play instantly from MIND to INSTRUMENT. Great improvisers are playing MELODIC. LINES , NOT PATTERNS. You want to create and focus on the line using chords and keys as a base guide but not the rule.
